Nitrogen Circulation Technology Using Ammonia Adsorbent
In-house Manufactured Prussian Blue-based Adsorbent
Though nitrogen is essential to Earth's ecosystems, it is also a source of environmental pollution. To solve this global issue, FUSO is working to create a nitrogen circulation system that uses highly-selective ammonia adsorbent to recover low-concentration nitrogen compounds in exhaust gas and wastewater and convert them into fuel and resources. The Prussian Blue (PB) adsorbent we manufacture in-house offers usefulness in a variety of applications, especially for the selective adsorption of cesium and ammonia.
Utilizing Local Biomass in Sewage Treatment Facilities
Energy Circulation System through Effective Use of Local Resources
Digestion gas, a renewable energy source, is a biofuel composed mainly of methane derived from organic matter in sewage sludge. Electricity generated in this system uses digestion gas as fuel, collected from sewage treatment facilities. Methane, a greenhouse gas second only to carbon dioxide in how much it drives global warming/boiling, is safely recovered and converted into useful electricity. This mechanism offers the promise of a dual-benefit resource-recycling power generation that not only saves energy but also prevents global warming/boiling. At FUSO, we support greater utilization of local biomass in sewage treatment facilities, integrating treatment of organic waste, human waste, septic tank sludge, and livestock waste to utilize these without wastefulness. This is how we create efficient energy circulation systems.
Our Works
This facility purchases a portion of the digestion gas generated in the sludge treatment process at the Harada Treatment Plant, generates and sells electricity (via the feed-in tariff, or FIT, system) at a digestion gas power generation facility built by FUSO, and also supplies hot water.

Efforts to Address the Depletion of Fishery Resources
Amid rising demand for marine resources due to global population growth, concerns about depletion due to overfishing have made aquaculture a more critical option to shore up resources. However, there is a limit to the number of suitable locations for sea-based aquaculture, and marine pollution also presents a problem. Attention has therefore increasingly focused on land-based aquaculture, conducted in an environment artificially created on land. FUSO is committed to the sustainable and stable supply of marine products through wastewater treatment in land-based aquaculture of fish and shellfish.
